“I’m glad I met you, too Momo,” replies Kasumi.  This was the icing on the cake for Kasumi.  She was anxious about asking Momo for them to exchange numbers.  She wanted to say more but doesn’t want to look desperate.  Momo seems to look up to her.  She doesn’t want to scare her away before they could truly get to know one another.  Kasumi internally becomes emotional because she was beginning to think she wasn’t capable of having friends.  She needs this friendship in more ways than one.  Kasumi digs her phone out of her purse.  The girls exchange phones entering in their info.

“You know what, I will grab the one I like the most for myself.  I hope you don’t mind.  Great minds think alike!”  Kasumi searched the rack locating one of the dresses in her size.  She doesn’t need to try it on.  She already knows how good she’s going to look.  Kasumi has in mind what shoes and accessories she will be wearing with the dress.  She drapes the dress over her arm as Momo did.  “Come on!  Let’s go pay.  We have so much more shopping to do!” Kasumi came to the mall alone.  Now she has a new friend and shopping partner on her level.  This is going to be great!

Momo laughed. "I only wear heels when it is a necessity. Like I said, I would've worn them today and I could've possibly gotten some good looking men to eye me, but I don't like struggling to walk after a while, so I went with the platform shoes I have on now," she said, sticking one of her feet out to show Kasumi the shoes she had on. They weren't heels per se, but they would raise her height just a tad without hurting her feet. They were comfortable, which is why she liked them. She can always wear heels anytime, but today was not one of those days for them.

Plus, she appreciated Kasumi giving her encouragement. She may have just met the older woman, but she was nice, and she appreciated that. Compared to her classmates, it was fun having a conversation with someone who didn't treat her as if she were a nuisance. It made her even more excited to continue to push forward in her desire to become a popular model. With Kasumi as her new friend, she was sure that she would learn a lot from her. From fashion to makeup. Things that Momo herself couldn't have known. "I will hold you to that and do my best to work hard," she assured the strawberry-blonde woman with a smile. Momo may not be there yet in terms of appearing on the cover of popular magazines, but she hopes to eventually make herself well-known. That was her goal. That and finding a good man to marry, too.

"I do hope to find a good guy eventually. Until then, I'll be working hard to be beautiful and cute." Men had standards, and Momo wanted to meet those standards. She also wanted to be able to offer more in any relationship she gets into, but hopes to only get into one with a guy, and that guy will propose to her. A girl can dream. Right now, she was happy with the choices of outfits she picked out as Kasumi complimented them. "Yay, I knew there was something about these two outfits that stuck out to me. Totally buying them both," Momo said. The outfits were within her current spending budget, so she wouldn't be going over at all. Carefully, she placed one dress over her right arm, then the other dress on top. That was when Kasumi had offered to exchange phone numbers with her.

Momo squealed excitedly at the offer. "Hai! We can definitely exchange numbers!" She took her phone out of her purse and opened up the phonebook app on it so Kasumi could place her information inside of it. "Here you go and I'll put my info inside of your phone. Yay, I'm so happy to have made a new friend today!"

Kasumi can’t help but smile at Momo’s giggle.  She is so charming.  Kasumi makes a mental note to see if this is something she can learn.  She doesn’t know how to not sound stupid when talking to people.  Dragging Junko during a conversation was the main thing she knew how to do.  Kasumi pushes those thoughts to the back of her mind.  Besides, Momo was still here chatting with her.  “Oh totally,” says Kasumi agreeing with Momo.  “Wearing heels to the mall can be a challenge….” Kasumi will wear heels when out but wearing them to the mall or a shopping trip takes a mental and physical toll on her.  She has tried it out a few times.  She attracted some decent guys but couldn’t keep their interest.  A story for another day.

“Just let me know when!” exclaims Kasumi.  “It could also be seen as practice.  Nothing serious.” She gives Momo a supportive smile.  Again, this is not something she is use to.  Someone openly listening to her and taking her advice.  Junko could never.  Kasumi beams as Momo thanks her for supporting her goals.  “I believe in your goals Momo.  You clearly have a sense of who you are and what you want.  To be honest I admire you for that.”  Kasumi looks away for a moment.  She didn’t mean to make the conversation about her.  Kasumi clears her throat.

“Anyways, at least if you get married young you can enjoy your time together as a couple.  The couple experts say that is important.” Kasumi had begun listening to dating and marriage advice podcasts from time to time.  She doesn’t know much about dating and would like to find her perfect man.  No such thing as perfect but she wants to get as close to it as possible. “You have a good head on your shoulders.  You are going to be fine.  Don’t let these other insecure people discourage you.”  Kasumi is speaking more from her experience than Momo’s with her last statement.  The people she thought were her friends weren’t.  She figured they were immature girlies.  She is older than most around her.  Kasmi begins to chuckle as Momo fist pumps the air.

Kasumi nods in agreement with Momo’s plan.  Kasumi knows for a fact if she had a man who could provide for her, and take care of her, she would keep her modeling basic.  She wouldn’t show off the goodies to anyone but her man.  “For sure, no need to rush anything.  We don’t know what the future holds but hopefully nothing but good fortune.”  Kasumi is not surprised to hear about Momo’s classmates.  Most people seem to think modeling is not fun.  It’s part of why she hasn’t told many about her desire to become an influencer.  Kasumi loves taking photos and staging items to look nice.  “I’ll buy several issues.  I’m sure once your classmates see you on the cover they will be shocked into silence!”  Kasumi snaps her finger on the word silence.

Momo smiles before looking back over the dresses she was viewing before Kasumi and her got side tracked with conversation.  Momo addresses Kasumi's question regarding rompers and jumpsuits.  Kasumi nods understanding Momo’s point of view.  There are many clothing items in the world.  Many ways to wear them.  Not everything is for everyone.  Kasumi noticed how cowboy hats are in and she would never wear them.  Maybe if she was sponsored she could make it work but ew.  Kasumi eyes the two dresses up and down.

“Hmmm the fact you can get two dresses is a total bonus” she replies.  “Sophisticated and cute never goes out of style.”  Kasumi takes a deep breath thinking about Shouta.  She was so nervous to ask for his phone number.  With Momo it seems more natural.  “Momo, did you want to exchange numbers?  We stay in touch, give each other fashion advice and then some.”  Kasumi chuckles.  Thus far Momo feels more like a girlfriend than those she had in the past.  This could be the friendship she needs to help her grow.  Kasumi wants to do better.  Not for those around her but for herself.

Momo giggled at Kasumi's enthusiasm. "Don't worry, I already own some heels that help me out in that department. They're really cute, too. I should've worn them today, but I knew I was going to be walking a lot in the mall today, so I decided against it," she said. Granted, she always wanted to look cute in what she wore, no matter where she went and what she was doing, but Momo knew her limits regarding heels. Some are only good for walking in for a short period, and the ones she has aren't made for that. Thus, she didn't wear them today. She decided to go comfortable. However, if she knew that she was going out purposely to garner positive attention, then yes, she would've worn a pair of her heels today, as it meant she'd be doing more sitting than walking around for longer than planned.

Momo never thought about seeking out guys in the mall. She usually came here alone or with friends to hang out and have fun. Guys were hardly the last thing on her mind unless one of her friends mentioned the subject. It would usually mean they had someone they were already dating, or were interested in someone they knew and wanted to share it with everyone, and get some advice. It would appear to Momo that Kasumi knew the specific days and times to come to the mall and see handsome guys. She had never thought about that before, but it sounded interesting. She'll try it once to see if that's the case. It sounded like a fun experiment in Momo's mind. She nodded in response to what Kasumi was saying.

"That sounds like fun. I will definitely have to test that out sometime," she said. "I also appreciate you not judging me at all for how I've set the goals in my life. I've been told by a lot of people that it's childish to worry so much about what age to get married. It's not impossible to get married before you are twenty, but these days, it is a little harder, considering that people are so different and want different things. I certainly do want kids, though, but I am in no rush to have any." Momo didn't want to make the mistake of jumping into a relationship quickly and getting pregnant by a guy who says he doesn't want kids when he'd never mentioned before that was how he felt. She's seen that happen a lot, and that makes life hard. One is left feeling so guilty about their actions and believing no one would want them with a child. It's a sad, hard truth, and she may have had her goals, but she was certainly taking her time to achieve them.

This conversation between her and Kasumi made her feel so happy that she couldn't help but pump her fists in excitement, but she made sure to respond respectfully so as not to draw attention to both of them. "Hai, I agree. Finding a guy will happen when it happens," Momo said, giggling again. "Still, I cannot thank you enough for being willing to help me out. I think I'll do social media for a while, but in the event, I do find someone to be with and get married to him, out of respect for my husband, I'll simply stick to regular modeling where I'm seen in only magazines. I'd probably only use socials to post pictures of us together, but that's a bridge to cross when I get there."

Momo doesn't expect her pictures online to start appearing spicy, but she wants to be respectful to her husband and only have parts of her body be seen by him. Not for the world to see on display. But she had to get established with an agency and go from there. In the meantime, she still had her job at the cat cafe, and she was happy to know Kasumi seemed interested since she was looking for a job herself. Kasumi then apologized to her, but she shook her head. "Iie, I'm not upset at all. In fact, it's nice to meet someone who's just as excited as I am. My classmates are rather indifferent but excited in their own way about modeling. I really want to have fun with it. So that makes me happy to know that you'll buy a magazine in the future if I'm ever on the cover of one. That's the motivation and energy I appreciate," Momo admitted.

She was telling the truth. Her close friends were always excited about her pursuing a modeling career. She was taking it seriously but also having fun with it. Her classmates were also pursuing the same career, but not so much. They took every gig they had seriously. They didn't see it as something fun. They saw it as a job. To Momo, that sounded depressing. Momo knew it was a job, but it shouldn't be just that. It can be fun as well. She really liked Kasumi's optimism, but they had varying ideas of what clothes were cute. That wasn't bad, but in her mind, she didn't think many outfits shaped her body well. But if required to wear them for a photoshoot, she'd do it without complaints. Since Momo had never worn rompers before, she had no definitive opinion outside of feeling they wouldn't shape well with her body.

Kasumi, on the other hand, knew and had all sorts of ideas related to them. Momo couldn't help but ponder, giving a small hum. "I suppose. I never gravitated towards them, so I can't say whether or not I agree if one will look good on me or not." However, Momo is a very optimistic person, so she is willing to try something out that she's never tried before. To at least say she tried it, and it didn't work out. When asked about the two dresses again, she carefully held them up by their hangers, as she had them hanging over her forearm moments ago, and put them in front of her where Kasumi could see them. "These two dresses. I was going for sophisticated for one and cute for the other one. These two dresses stuck out to me," Momo said, smiling. "And no need to worry, I'm sticking with what I'm used to wearing for the time being. The adventurous side can always come later."

Kasumi listens as Momo explains how heels can make most appear taller.  Kasumi didn’t really consider that because she is somewhat tall.  She mostly wear heels to fit a look.  Mostly when going on or she wants her legs to look toned.  “That is something I hadn’t really thought about” states Kasumi thoughtfully outloud.  “I can see you rocking some killer heels!”  Momo is giving her pro model tips.  Kasumi tells herself to make a mental note of all these nuggest Momo is dropping in the conversation.  While she doesn’t want to be a model she certainly wouldn’t mind looking like one.

Momo explains she is interested in some of the social media platforms but not all of them.  She wants to learn more how to use Instagram.  Kasumi personally feels Momo is doing herself and upcoming career a disservice.  Tiktok in Japan has come a long way.  Many people think the focus is educational.  It still is but they are slowly expanding to more areas.  Nothing messy like some of the stuff Kasumi has seen overseas.  Celebrities have begun to use the app to connect to fans.  Kasumi mostly enjoys the jpop and kpop dance challenges outside her typical makeup and fashion threads.  Kasumi herself would be overwhelmed trying to get on Tiktok and use it.  She doesn’t know how to put reels together but she is going to look into it soon.  Kasumi turns her attention back to Momo who says she is excited to get started on learning about Instagram from her.  Kasumi smiles glad to know Momo is comfortable and trusts her with navigation of Instagram.  Oh my god…..someone trust me to teach them.  I’m like a mini teacher! Kasumi begins to celebrate on the inside.  She has never been a position like this before.  It’s a euphoric feeling.  Momo’s giggles brings her back to the moment.  Kasumi nods listening to Momo admit the mall does tend to have cute guys.  She even says no harm in checking them out.  Kasumi feels like that is all she ever does is check out guys.  She never approaches them, they should be coming to her!

“In my experience I found Friday and Saturday nights at the mall to have the handsome guys,” Kasumi admits.  She is getting flashbacks to her high school and college days.  She would leave Junko often with the chores of the shrine to go outl.  Her friend circle at the time had to be at the mall on a Friday or Saturday night.  If they weren’t there it was one of the other houses where they would party among their group.  Their group consisted of girls and guys.  Most of them were popular at school.  The college days were a bit different as you had the study hard crowd, study hard and party and then simply party.  Kasumi feel into the strictly party crowd.  She sighs inwardly because she misses those days even though those peers weren’t her true friends.

Kasumi doesn’t speak to any of them.  She recalls a few of the girls from high school being jealous she got in Valeria University.  That made cheating her way in their worth it to see the looks on their faces.  They could clown her about staying back a year but she got into a top university.  It’s as if they didn’t want to see Kasumi doing better than them.  To this day Kasumi is unsure if they wanted to see her fail at life.  Those high school girls she hung out with disappeared from her life after she got into Valeria University.  ****.  Kasumi grabs a strand of her hair twirling it as she listens to Momo explain how she does want to get married one day.  She has even given hearself a deadline.  Kasumi is stunned how put together this girl is.  It’s as if she planned her whole life out.

“Thirty is great deadline to find a husband,” replies Kasumi.  “I personally would want a husband before the age of 30 mostly so when I have our child I can snapback with my body.”  Kasumi pats her mid section for emphasis on getting back into shape.   “The older you get the harder it is to lose weight and tone the skin.” Kasumi cringes at the thought of her looking so called sloppy after having a baby.  Flabby wrinkled skin, muffle top, cottage cheese thighs.  Ew.  “I like that you aren’t focused on solely finding a guy.  I have heard that is when the best ones come along.  Cheers to us finding some cute, nice, and etaslished bachelor.”  Kasumi would have toasted with a drink in hand to that.  Momo shifts the conversation pleasantly encouraging Kasumi to apply to work at the Mani Mani Cat Cafe.  She chuckles as Momo does this cute little side to side making those purple locks dance behind her.  It reminded her of a kitten in that moment.  She could use some innocent baby kittens to lift her mood.  Might not be such a bad gig.  “Thank you so much Momo.  You’re right.  We do all have to start somewhere.”

Kasumi feels bad when Momo says she is trying everything she can to succeed at modeling.  She really is.  Momo is doing more than Kasumi is herself granted Kasumi was no model.  “I apologize if I came off aggressive.” She grins. “I’m just overly excited about your career.  I want to pick a magazine one day and say I know her!”  Could Kasumi be selfish.  Sure.  She can also care for others if they give her something to care about.  Kasumi finds herself caring about Momo.  Something about her is so precious.  If only Junko could be more like her.  “There is a huge world out there.  You have every right to take advantage of it.”  Momo transitions smoothly stating how she likes to dress cute.  Totally.  Kasumi nods her head excitedly.  Momo is so easy to talk thus far.  She doesn’t feel like she is playing catch up with ‘college talk’ or ‘adult conversation’.  Kasumi found adult conversation to be boring as it could be about politics, bills, retirement, and such.  Just because you are grown doesn’t mean you can’t have a social life.  Kasumi shocked when Momo reveals she doesn’t think she could pull off a romper or a jumpsuit.

“Are you kidding!” exclaims Kasumi.  “You just need the right style for you.  I can see you rocking a romper with a waist belt.  Got to have the waist belt to snatch that waist.  Since you are going for cute the romper could be paired with some cute sneakers or sandals or in my case heels.”  Kasumi giggles.  “Then top it off with a jean jack, cardigan of even a blazer.  Rompers can be dressed up or down.  The options are limitless!”  Kasumi tucks a strand of hair behind her ear.  “I didn’t mean to get so excited there.  You are the full package Momo.  Not everyday someone inspires me to put outfits together.” Kasumi knows breaking into the modeling industry is hard.  One has to stand out.  Momo was not only petite, cute with thick purple flowing hair, her personality is humbled.  She’s going to go far.  I just know it!

“No need to try for anything you don’t feel adventurous trying,” replies Kasumi.  “Which dresses where you eyeing again?  I can certainly help you pick one of the two.”  Kasumi grins forgetting that she was also shopping for herself.  She can come back to that.  Her new friend needs her fashion opinion.  So much more important.

"Nonsense. Just like makeup, if you're able to wear heels without so much as tripping, they could really help boost your height more. Even someone as short as myself can pull off really cute heels," Momo giggled. If she were to compare the two of them, Kasumi was taller than her without heels. Momo was shorter in terms of height, but she never complained, and neither did any of the photographers who took pictures of her. Kasumi seemed to think less of herself, which was strange to the young woman because she was very beautiful. It was hard to believe she had never thought once about trying out modeling. It made sense since it isn't the first thought most women have when they attend university. They usually go for higher-up roles in the work field. Momo found that to be complicated and boring. It wasn't for her. She wanted to like her job, not hate it.

Momo listened as Kasumi spoke more about Instagram and other social media websites. She's heard of the TikTok app, but because Asia's use of the app is more educational than entertainment, Momo wasn't sure how that was going to work. She did know that the American version of the app was for entertainment purposes. That seemed like too much to figure out, so TikTok wasn't an interest to Momo. She also had no idea what Tumblr was. There weren't a lot of websites Momo was aware of, or if she knew they existed, no one would show her how to use them. Instagram was the only one she was familiar with, and though she wanted to use it, the app was difficult for her.

"Hm, Instagram seems more interesting to use. I have no use for the other two. I don't know what one of them are, and the one I am aware of is used for educational purposes in Asia. Unless, of course, you find a way to use another country's version of the app to use it for what you want to do," said Momo with a small laugh. She was fine with settling for using Instagram. She would prefer to use her portfolio, but she also knows that having it won't gain her a lot of traction to land a modeling job that could advance her career if enough people don't know who she is. Japan's modeling industry is different from other countries. If Momo can land something here, maybe she could get picked up as a model by an agency in another country. That would be amazing if that happened. But she had to focus on one thing at a time. Right now, she has someone willing to help her learn how to properly use social media for what she wants to use it for. "Arigatou, Kasumi-chan! You're a big help!"

She listened to Kasumi's suggestions about ways to further use social media to help garner more coverage for her modeling. Momo had thought about doing that, but taking photos could only do so much, and she was always afraid of trying to figure out how to use social media on her own because she feared screwing up. She was lucky to have met Kasumi, who knew how to use such websites. "I can't wait to get started! You're the best!" Momo chimed excitedly. "Between you and me, the mall is usually the best place to scope out guys. Even if you don't approach any, there's no harm in checking out how cute and hot they are," she giggled. They had so much in common that this conversation between them was so much fun. She couldn't help but agree that all the good guys are taken. While her expectations for one were a little high, Momo understood that the type of guy she wanted was going to be a little bit harder to get. Momo was patient, though.

"It's a shame, but there's always hope and still time. I would like to get married before I'm thirty. I still have time since that's such a long way away. So for the time being, I'm in no hurry. If I find a good guy, I'll make sure to hold onto him," Momo said. Momo knew she could be a bit naive when it came to things, but she could tell when there was good in a person. When it came to guys, that was a whole different story. She knew she had to be careful attending university because while there were nice-looking guys, a lot of them were not so great in personality. The ones that were could easily be persuaded by other women. She wondered if Kasumi experienced that. Momo hadn't yet, but there was the off chance it could. It's not something she wanted to experience. She'd hate going through something like that. 'Guess I will have to pray the guy I find is a good guy both inside and out,' she thought to herself. She perked up, hearing Kasumi considering working at the Mani Mani Cat Cafe, where she works. "I hope you do consider it. You'll love it. It's quiet and relaxing, and you're surrounded by cute, fluffy babies. Meow meow." Momo swayed from side to side, thinking about all the adorable cats and kittens at the cafe. They're all up for adoption, and who knows? Maybe Kasumi might take one home. "I'm sure you'll do just fine. One has to start somewhere to gain work experience," she chuckled.

Their conversation eventually returned to the topic of modeling, where Kasumi gave her more suggestions and encouragement. "I am doing the best I can. I do have a lot of photos in my portfolio, so it isn't as if I'm without anything to showcase what I can do," Momo told her. "Even if I can't make it here, there are always other countries looking for fresh new models. I'm keeping my options open." Saying that it was time to focus back on the task at hand, which was the outfits she'd taken off the rack to look at, which she held one in each hand and looked between the two of them, and then at Kasumi. "I agree with you on it not being a necessity to rush trying to appear sexy. I kind of enjoy appearing cute more than anything. It's why I picked out these two outfits, but I can't decide which would look best on me." She then contemplated Kasumi's clothing suggestion. "Hmm, I never thought about wearing either. I don't feel like I could pull off wearing it and it looks right on me. Maybe I'm just being weirdly nitpicky," Momo laughed a bit.

“Well thank you,” says Kasumi with a grin.  She has so much spirit.  “Modeling does look like fun.  I like the print work over the runway.  Besides I’m much too short for that.”  Kasumi finds it interesting that Momo states how having the right makeup and outfit makes it easy for her to be cute.  Definitely.  Kasumi still finds it hard to believe when some women don’t wear make up at all.  Defined brows, mascara and some lip gloss can go a long way.  Kasumi took notice of how Momo is surprised she has 4000 followers on instagram.  She is further stunned when Momo confesses to not really using social media like that.  After Momo explains how the sites are complicated for her Kasumi understands completely.  Kasumi is taken back to how she felt when she was struggling at college.  Every single class was hard.  Didn’t matter how easy the subject was.  It was constantly whooping her brain’s ass.

“Instagram is one of the easiest to me,'' she replies. “The filters on there are incrediable.  I find the hardest social media sites to navigate is TikTok and Tumbler.  Lucky for us Tumbler isn’t as popular.”  Kasumi solely focuses on Instagram.  TikTok is too much for her.  She needs to learn more about editing before trying to use that social media platform.  “I can show you how to use Instagram if you like.  I truly believe you would get so much more coverage on your modeling.” Kasumi rubs her chin.  “Part of me thinks you can show bits and pieces of your life but mostly the modeling.  You could end up getting contracts or something.  People nowadays like being able to relate to people they look up to.  That is how come I recommended showing small pieces of your life.”  Kasumi herself had businesses on Instagram approach her for advertising but they were all companies wanting her to promote for free.  I wouldn’t dare.  Kasumi is not the best teacher but working Instagram is something she can do.

“I’m so glad I’m not alone,” replies Kasumi.  Momo admitted she wants a nice boyfriend who is a good person but can also buy her things she wants.  Kasumi can tell Momo is not the type to want expensive things 24-7.  She has a good balance much like herself. “I swear all the good guys are taken.  That leaves us with guys who have low paying jobs or lacking in looks.  The good looking ones are rather arrogant.”  Kasumi places her hands on her hips.  “I’m not saying all men but most of the guys I have run across have been not so great.”  Even when on campus Kasumi couldn’t find a guy.  Most of them were too busy into their studies or into fooling around and not being a committed relationship.  Kasumi already knows she isn’t giving up the cookie unless she is getting married.  She is not innocent by any means.  Kasumi has dabbled in kissing, a hand job here or there but oral and the act of sex itself is a no for her.  She refused to be the girl in high school or on campus known for spreading their legs.  Valeria University is a top tier college.  She wanted to be taken serious like her sister Junko.  Kasumi wasn’t going to risk any gossip being released about herself.

“Really,” says Kasumi with her eyes watering a possible job offer..  “I mean I will consider it.  I have been thinking about getting a part time job after all.” Kasumi blinks back tears of happiness.  Momo is beyond kind.  She just met her and yet she is offering for her to apply at the kitten cafe.  It’s like this girl was placed in her life for more than one purpose.  Thank you ancestors.  “I know kittens and cats must warm up to their caregivers.  It’s understandable they wouldn’t be use to me if I was to work there.”  Kasumi doesn’t want to assume.  She realizes she can’t stop smiling.  Kasumi didn’t think for a second she would enjoy their conversation this much.  Kasumi listens nodding her head as Momo discusses her portfolio.

“I do know modeling portfolio is a must in your career field,” states Kasumi. “Showcasing your skills to take a variety of photos is important.” She grins wildly at Momo.  “This is why I have faith in you girlie.  You totally got this in the bag!” Kasumi is thrilled when Momo accepts her offer to show her how to use the social media platform.  She feels irate on the inside hearing how Momo’s classmates didn’t want to help her when she asked for help.  I shouldn’t be surprised.  People can be so cruel.  Kasumi nods her yes wanting to help Momo even more after hearing that.  Momo excitedly tells Kasumi how they should proceed.  She’s such a good planner.  She thought of all of this on the spot.  Kasumi needs 24 hours or longer to think of plan when it comes to most things.  Organization doesn’t come easy to her but she is getting better about it.

“There is no need to rush to be sexy,” replies Kasumi.  “I think playing up your futures as you are is best.  Wholesome modeling goes much further.  As you age then you can shift to the grown and um sexy.”  Kasumi looks around not wanting to use such language openly. “Now we are going for cute but comfy.  Totally my area.  How do you feel about rompers or jumpsuits?”

"You should definitely give it a shot! It's really fun!" Momo told her. "But it is a lot of hard work and patience. Many drop out of wanting to do it because of that reason, but I am definitely determined to keep at it. Besides, it's not difficult for me to look cute anyway, as long as I have the right make up and outfit, I'll be just fine," she giggled. Of course, Momo would stress out when she couldn't figure out what to put on just to go outside to do even the basic necessities for herself. She was still learning not to stress herself out every time. It's not a good look. She did become intrigued by knowing that Kasumi had an Instagram with over 4000 followers. "Oh?" Momo tilted her head to the side. Social media wasn't foreign to the young woman. She just didn't know how to use it, and setting it up was her issue. Thus, the reason for never actively gravitates toward it.

"I'm not good with social media so I don't have any accounts for pictures and stuff like that. I'm super terrible at trying to figure stuff like that out. I can use a computer for basic things, but asking me to use social media is like trying to teach a cat to play basketball," Momo laughed, sheepishly rubbing the back of her head. "I'd probably be a lot more well known if I had an Instagram." Momo knew about the website, but these days, some websites have made their functionality so overly complicated that it would make a person not want to bother with it. Momo wouldn't be against the idea of using social media to put herself out there more. She'd just need some help doing that. None of her peers in her class were willing to help her, treating her as if she were stupid because she didn't know how to use social media to her advantage, which bummed her out a lot. That's why she didn't complain much whenever there was an on-set photoshoot scheduled for them.

Momo would work hard to ensure the photos from those shoots came out top-tier. As she said, it was hard work, and the lifestyle of a model isn't for everyone. Just because someone has the looks to be a model doesn't mean they'll be able to handle the life that comes with it. Even still, she wasn't passing up the opportunity to make a new friend. Kasumi wasn't just pretty. She seemed very nice! She could even relate to her when it came to having a look for every occasion. "Mhm, mhm! I agree! I want a super handsome guy as my husband who will be able to buy me nice things. But he'll also need to be a good guy as well. It's hard to enjoy nice things being given to you, and the person you're with is a negative one."

Momo wasn't giving up on her dream goal of landing a hot, rich man to marry. So she always had to be picture-perfect. She never knew when that might happen. A guy could come around the corner at any moment, and if she didn't look presentable, that meant she struck out, and that would be on her. With that in mind, she was always on the lookout for nice new clothes to wear and makeup to try on. "Kitties are definitely cute! My future husband has to love cute, fluffy animals, too. I want a pet of my own, but I have no time for one right now. So working at the cat cafe gives me the experience of learning how to take care of a pet when that day comes. It's a lot of work but very rewarding. If you're interested, they're always looking to hire at my job. It may take a while for the kitties to get used to you because you're new, but when they do, that's the best part of the job." Momo giggled. Earning the trust of cats is hard work, but in return, they'll love and trust you unconditionally once they can trust you. It's such a nice feeling.

"I appreciate the faith you have in me. I have so many pictures on my phone and computer. I'm building a portfolio with all those pictures, but I do need to put myself out there more. Sure, a portfolio is great, but even I'm aware that social media is more popular than just standard pictures." Momo hummed, tapping her chin as an idea struck her mind in that instant. "Since you're free to hang out, would you mind helping me with the whole social media thing? I could certainly use it. My classmates aren't too kind to me about it. I wanna learn it but they pretty much tell me to learn it on my own." Momo would greatly appreciate Kasumi's help, as she seemed popular on Instagram and knew how to use the website more effectively than Momo ever could.

"Obviously I still have to pick out some new outfits, so lets do that first and go from there," she suggested. "Since it's summer, I'm trying to go for something cool yet comfortable. It also has to be cute too. I'm not sure about sexy. I'm not sure if I'm there yet to pull off sexy," she stated. Momo has wanted to try appearing more sexy, but as it's her weakest area, she's settled for just looking cute and making it work for her. The rest will fall into place.

Kasumi blushes in return.  This girl is so nice.  Where was such a tender soul when she was in high school.  Kasumi can’t believe how nice she is.  The fact this girl can look so put together with very little makeup is impressive.  Kasumi must have some kind of makeup on at all times.  Don’t let it be a long night because concealer is a must the following morning.

“Now you have me wishing I did look into modeling” Kasumi states. “I truly never thought about.  I do keep up with my Instagram account.  I have 4,000 followers.”  Kasumi is really proud of that.  She has a schedule whe she makes her posts.  Wednesday, Friday and Sunday are the days she posts.  Kasumi realized that is when she posted on those days is when she would get the most interaction.  Despite having a decent following Kasumi didn’t want to be an influencer.  How could she?  She is a college dropout and lives with her parents.  Most influencers live on their own and can show the best of everything in their world.  Kasumi feels like she has nothing to show off.  She may give the influencer lifestyle a try if she moves out on her own.  Until then she plans to lay low.  Kasumi can’t help but beam as possible new friend says she would blow the camera away.  She quickly excited by the fact this purple hair beauty admitted to ensuring she looks presentable.

“You totally get me!” exclaims Kasumi.  She is excited to know this little lady does put thought into how she leaves the house.  “I personally have a look for every occasion.  Today is clearly running errands, shopping.  You never know who you will see.  I could be running into my future husband.”  Kasumi giggles because she is embarrassed to say that but not at the same time.  She really wants a boyfriend.  She has never had one before.  Kasumi admires Momo even more hearing how she works at a kitten cafe while working on building up her modeling career.  This girl could clearly settle on being pretty but she isn’t.  She has goals of being successful in her chosen career.

“Kitties are so cute!”  exclaims Kasumi.  “That sounds like a nice job.”  Working at the shrine has a lot of walking.  Besides Kasumi giving thanks to the ancestors and maintaining the shrine she would like to try doing something else.  Momo working at a kitten cafe and is a part time model.  Her life sounds so put together compared to Kasumi.  Kasumi runs her right hand through her hair nervously.  “I do believe certain people are destined to be a model.”  She smiles shyly.  “You have such great work ethic.” Kasumi feels a little jealous.  She doesn’t understand how people like Junko or Shouta can so easily go after what they want in life.  This girl is no different.  Kasumi feels so left behind.  At the same time she has no idea what she wants to do.  “I know you are going to begin landing work very soon.  All it takes is for that one photo to go viral and they will begin beating down your door with offers!”  Kasumi truly believes this.  If this girl is pretty in person with little effort what will she look like after photo shop.  It really isn’t needed but Kasumi knows the professionals always touches up photos to get the final outcome they are seeking.

Momo inquires if she is doing anything after this.  Kasumi had no plans.  She was going to head back home to wash her new clothing items.  Once the clothes were clean and fresh she was going to put some of the new items together with her current wardrobe to create new outfits.  Kasumi also needed to figure out where she wanted to take her pictures and selfies.  She always has pictures in her phone ready for an upload at any time.

“Thank you” says Kasumi blushing at the compliment.  She can admit she really does like her name.  Some people don’t like their birth name but Kasumi is not one of them.  She feels her name fits her very well.  She is glad to know someone else feels the same.  Momo, her name is Momo.  Even this girl name is adorable.  Kasumi reaches her hand out shaking Momo’s for a proper introduction.  She is so classy.  “I didn’t have anything planned” Kasumi confirms.  “I can hang out.  What did you want to do?  I have some more shopping to do and I will probably need a light snack in an hour or two.”  Kasumi can’t believe there is someone who wants to hang out with her.  This isn’t someone she went to school with or even a friend of her little sister Junko.  It’s someone Kasumi met on her own.  Kasumi has done a lot of self reflecting and improving the past few months.  She smiles to herself as she can see how far she has come.  Kasumi knows she a few more things to figure out but things are looking up.  “Did you want to finish shopping in here first?  What kind of piece are you searching for?  Maybe I can help?”  Kasumi had to remind herself it is not all about her.  This is what friends do.  They look out for each other.  They care about the others interests. Shouta would be so proud if he could see me now.

Momo blushed happily, being told that she was pretty. She didn't even put on much makeup before coming here. She toned it down, used less, and kept it simple. More importantly, the young woman always wanted to be prepared just in case she was scouted by any professionals looking for models. Of course, she'd have to ensure they're legit before accepting any jobs. She was surprised to learn that this beautiful woman wasn't a model. Such a missed opportunity for her is how Momo felt, but she hadn't wanted to assume that she wasn't doing anything she enjoyed already. Not everyone wanted or needed to be a model.

"Aw, such a shame," Momo replied, "You'd make a great model. I mean it. Your overall appearance would blow the camera away." She wouldn't lie to anyone. Lying was not a strong suit of hers. She didn't want to appear pushy since she'd just met this woman. She seemed rather nice and didn't mind her presence at all. "Oh no, I couldn't wake up and just leave the house without doing anything to look presentable. I don't see how others can do it." Considering Momo's goal of wanting to work as a model, she couldn't find it in herself to go out and dress down. She can dress simple. That was easy for anyone to do. Going outside and not combing her hair, wearing her clothes like they're thrown away, definitely not. But not everyone was the same. Some people relaxed in their own way.

The conversation proceeded to the woman complimenting her taste in clothing but admitted she couldn't see herself doing the same. She thought of Momo as lucky. Momo wouldn't say she felt lucky. She found her career choice rather fun since she met many people at the photoshoots. Being a model was only for some, not for everyone. "I understand. The life of a model isn't for everyone. While I haven't landed a professional job yet, I'm still working hard to get noticed. It's not easy, but I remain positive," Momo giggled. "Until then, I work at a cat cafe and get to be around cute, adorable kitties. I still have to make money to support myself and buy nice things to help me get noticed."

It was nice to have a friendly conversation, and Momo was curious to know if the woman was busy after this to hang out. She'd introduced herself as Kasumi, which made Momo's eyes sparkle. "Even your name sounds pretty," she exclaimed. "Hasegawa, Momo." She held her hand out to Kasumi to exchange a proper introduction. "Are you doing anything after this? We could hang out for a bit if you'd like." It always felt nice for Momo whenever she met people and made a friend out of it. She hoped this would be the case with Kasumi.

Kasumi is surprised when the young girl responds to her so casually.  She is as bubbly as she appears.  Often times females aren’t very nice.  Kasumi wasn’t expecting a response from her at all.  The purple beauty compliments her make up and outfit.  Kasumi stops looking at the wall of clothes in front of her.  She turns her attention the girl beside her.

Thank you,” she replies bashfully.  “You’re pretty as well!  It’s nice to have my outfit appreciated.  Can you believe some people actually roll out of bed and just leave the house.”  Kasumi has seen a few girls do this but mostly guys.  It’s always obvious as those men have bed hair and their clothes have this weird smell to it.  For some strange reason those are the kind of guys that would ask her out.  Constantly.  As if she would be seen with someone who looks sloppy.  Kasumi cringes at the thought.  She is brought back to the conversation recalling the young girl stated she looks like a model.

Me?  A professional model?” she says thoughtfully.  “Well no.”  Kasumi never considered being a model.  She had some guys say that but she thought they were just trying to butter her up.  Never took it seriously.  Her focus was to get into college like her little sister Junko.  Sadly college didn’t work out like she hoped.  “You’re pretty too.  I can tell you have great taste and will go far in your career.”  Kasumi giggles.  “I can’t imagine getting paid to wear fabulous clothes for a living.  You’re so lucky.  I’m Kasumi.”  She isn’t sure where this is going but she wants to be around this girl.  She knows nothing of Kasumi's past, her mistakes, and she’s a model.  There is a saying to surround yourself by people like yourself.  This girl is definitely my vibe.

Momo hadn't decided if she was going to get both outfits or one of them. Instead of putting them back on the sales rack, she draped them both over her right arm and continued to look through the rest of the clothes for something else. She wanted a variety of options that she could make a decision on. Sure, her job allowed her to pay for things she needed; it just wasn't enough. She was contemplating finding another place to work that paid more; at the same time, she didn't want to give up being surrounded by adorable kitty cats. Just as she was about to check out some more outfits, she heard a feminine voice speaking to her. Turning in the direction she heard it, Momo's eyes stumbled upon another woman with tanned skin and strawberry-blonde hair. Her eyes went wide in awe as she looked at her. She was simply beautiful, and she wondered if she was a professional model.

"Oooh! You're so pretty!" Momo exclaimed in excitement. She was unable to keep from approaching the woman out of curiosity. She may have been a stranger, but she looked very fashionable, from her clothes all the way down to her makeup. "Your makeup is so well done, and your outfit flows so well with it. Are you a professional? I'm studying to become a model, so I can't help but get excited seeing others who know how to make clothes and makeup work well together." She'd apologize if she were too forward, but her curiosity was dying to have her question answered. She'd completely forgotten about the clothes draped on her arm and was completely focused on the tanned woman in front of her.

Kasumi steps out of the cab.  She thanks the driver closing the door swiftly.  She stands in front of Ganzu Square Mall.  Outdoor malls are all the rage but Kasumi prefers an indoor mall.  It protects from the elements allowing her to shop to her heart’s content.  Kasumi wasn’t sure what she wanted to wear today.  Trying on clothes at the store is a must.  However, it is a workout.  Kasumi wanted to wear a flowy maxi dress but the dress added 15 pounds.  She can’t look 15lbs heavier in case she runs into her prince charming.  Kasumi settled for a cute pair of shorts and a tank top.  Easy to take on or off.  Kasumi didn’t want to wear sandals or flipflops as she is in need of a pedi at the moment.  She opted for the pretied All Star Converse white sneakers.  Slide on, slide off.  Once again making things easy.

Excellent.  Not a lot of cars in the parking lot.  Kasumi purposely got up early to come to the mall to go upon opening.  That is when the stores are clean, and organized.  She has a better chance of getting what she wants as the items haven’t been picked over.  Kasumi adjusts her white hobo bag on her shoulder.  This is her favorite purse to wear during the summer when she is shopping or traveling.  The purse is not too big and not too small.  It can hold water bottles, snacks, and even a tablet effortlessly.

Kasumi sighs in content being greeted by the cool air conditioning.  She is thankful not wanting to be a sweaty stinky mess before she could even get to the first store.  Kasumi hums to herself as she walks.  Not sure where she wants to start yet.  Every wardrobe should have staples.  Having current fashion fads is not hard.  Magazines aren’t as popular as they once were.  Most are digital.  Kasumi likes to look at Vogue for the grown and sexy outfits and Instagram influencers for more affordable young and hip fashions.  Just because I am 26 doesn’t mean I can’t still be hot.  She swings her hair over her shoulder recalling how some men find women old and use past the age of 25.  The freaking nerve….don’t see them with a single woman on their arm.  Still living with their mama.  Yet they call themselves a man.  Kasumi makes sure to not date any man that is living with their parents.  Kasumi considers her circumstances different as she helps her parents with maintaining the shrine.

Kasumi spots the first store she thinks is a great starting place. It is high fashion, expensive but she doesn’t need that many pieces.  Kasumi is surprised to see many winter clothes still out.  They barely have any spring clothes.  What kind of nonsense is this?  Kasumi stops putting her hand on her hip scanning the store.  Having a complete outfit would be easier with a simple dress or jumpsuit.  A piece that can be dressed up or down.  Kasumi makes her way over to the dress section.  She notices a young girl with purple hair.  Kasumi can’t help but notice how gorgeous this girl is.  Despite it being early in the morning she is put together.  Hair done, outfit matching down to her shoes and accessories.  Kasumi never seen anyone who put so much thought into their outfit outside of herself.  She appears to be studying two dresses.  Both of them are cute.

“Both dresses would look great on you,” says Kasumi to Momo.  She laughs anxiously.  She turns to look at the other dress selections realizing she doesn’t really know how to talk to new people.  Most of the people she interacted with were in school or her little sister Junko’s friends.  Hmmm do I want to go casual cute or vogue sexiness? Kasumi makes up her mind quickly.  Casual cute.  Where the hell am I going to wear vogue sexiness?

Spring had come and went and in just a short amount of time, and now it was summer. Momo couldn't be any happier! Why? Because it'd been cold for too long in her opinion and winter puts a damper on a good mood. Sure, winter has its beautiful moments but what the young woman enjoyed more than anything was the warm seasons. So, her energy was high. It also meant that she could wear less clothing when it was super hot outside. But she didn't want to walk about with last summer's outfits. The young woman wanted to wear summer outfits that were out this year. Momo was on the hunt to shop today. She saved up enough money from her paychecks and felt that today was finally the day that she could treat herself. She wasted no time in heading to the Ganzu Square Mall as soon as it opened.

Momo already knew what she was going to shop for today. Not just clothes but some new makeup fit for the summer as well. Maybe even some perfume. She couldn't help but be excited and giddy as she walked about the mall and entered the first clothing store that sold high-brand name fashion for women. A lot of the stores were still going to have some winter clothes out on the racks but as it was starting to warm up and sometimes be scorching hot, there was no need to look through any of it. Summer wear is what she was here for! The store had the latest fashion for women in Japan but as Momo was studying and working hard to be a model, she desired more brands of clothing that weren't from the country.

That said, she couldn't help but pout as she looked through the rack of women's dresses. She remembered the first time she attempted to look for clothing online that was by brand name foreigners, their prices made her turn pale. There was no way Momo could afford such beautiful quality clothes for over 200 dollars or more. She sighed heavily, pulling a dress off the rack and holding it close to her body to see if it framed her right. "It sucks that I can't afford more beautiful clothes. But my spending limit today is 300 bucks, and I can't spend it all on just one thing," she mumbled to herself. "I still need cute shoes, I want to get a new bathing suit, and some new makeup and perfume. I can't ... spend it all on one thing. Gah! Why is this so hard!?" Momo exclaimed aloud causing a few people around her to give her strange looks.

Immediately, she blushed in embarrassment, laughing sheepishly. "Gomen, gomen," Momo apologized, quickly putting the dress she had back on the rack and proceeded to look at others. "I wish being a model wasn't so difficult, but this is what I chose and I'm not backing out. I'll make sure to stand out compared to others," she stated in a determined tone, grabbing two dresses this time and looking at both of them to see which one flattered her out of the two. One dress had a sophisticated look to it and the other was cuter. It was hard for Momo to choose because she felt both flattered her well and they were in the range in terms of appeal she was looking for. 'Clothes shopping shouldn't be this haaaard! Especially when there are just so many nice clothes you can't afford!' she whined mentally.
